Family Verralls Name

The Research of Angela Verrells

Angela Verrells has traced her husband's line back to Nicholas Verralls, married to Sarah Childmeade in 1718 at Seal, Kent. In doing so she has found that the spelling has changed several times.

I cannot find a town or village called Medway, although there is the River Medway in Kent and therefore perhaps a district called Medway
I cannot find a town of village called Thanet, although there is the Isle of Thanet, where I was born

Wrotham is pronounced Roottum, famous for early television transmitting antenna
Meopham is pronounced Mappum
